The Mid West Regional Drugs and Alcohol Forum provides a coordinated response to drug and alcohol issues in the Mid-West working in line with the National Drug Strategy.
As the current Drug strategy comes to an end in 2025. The MWRDAF ask that you commit to ensuring the following items are included in the next programme for government.
1. Removing spent convictions. These prevent skilled and experienced people who are in recovery from volunteering or accessing gainful employment.
2. Family Support – The need for a National Family Support service ensuring family support will be provided using an evidence based and governed framework.
3. Safe and Secure transitional housing in the Mid-West is a need for those exiting treatment.
Do you/your party have a plan to support those in recovery and build on recovery capital and the need for wrap around services to support individuals to learn life skills, education and possibly return to employment?
